New Year, New Security Measures
As we waive a fond farewell to Christmas and pack away the decorations, it’s time to reorganise ourselves and get our homes back in order.
The New Year is a great time to really think about the security measures you have in place for your home. Are they as good now as they once were? Has anything changed in or around your home that could impact on the safety features you once relied upon? Do you now run a business from home with client details you need to protect, for example? Your security measures will probably need to change from time to time, so the New Year is the ideal time to take stock.
We may be heading towards spring but the days are still long. How well lit is your path? Do you have any large or overgrown bushes near your front door? Do any trees block your home from the rest of the street? If any of these questions raise a concern, it’s time to take action. We can advise you on the best course to take, but in the mean time we strongly advise you cut down any overgrown hedges or bushes near your path or doors, and make sure other properties on the street can see your front door.
It’s hard to believe but from time to time, people leave their homes unattended with windows left open and doors unlocked. Don’t give thieves an easy access! Do a quick check before you leave home and you could save yourself a lot of heartache.
Of course one of the best security measures of all is a burglar alarm. Installing an alarm tells burglars that they will be caught if they try to enter your home (providing you set the alarm when you leave!) With a criminal enforcement background, we know that burglars don’t attempt to rob houses with alarm boxes on exterior walls; it’s too much of a risk for them to take.
So while you’re finding new homes for all the latest gadgets and jewellery you’ve received for Christmas, ask yourself if your security measures are good enough. Talk to us to ensure you don’t become a victim of burglary. For help, advice and security installations, contact us on 01908 483233 or 01205 449399, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
